9 moo 9 (“gao moo gao”) is a lovely cafe/restaurant and gallery about twenty minutes down the canal road. It’s a little out of the way and the menu is pricey, but the atmosphere is so nice you’ll want to spend all day. The food is home cooked and delicious (Chiang Dao Nest buys their sausages here) and the owners are very welcoming. They’ve turned old wooden houses and rice barns into their living space and the restaurant, along with a gallery with rotating exhibitions. A worthy spot for a lazy weekend afternoon.
